I decided to produce this site to show some of the projects that can be achieved with limited knowledge and experience. All these projects are the result of the extensive work of others, plus additions from many other contributors. All I can claim is being able to put together numerous sources of information to resolve problems met due to outdated information and my own errors.
Be aware that some of the information on the internet is dated, technology moves on. Contributors offering their hard work to our community have lives, family and probably a full-time job – don’t expect too much.
A special thank you to my friend Steve who has spent many hours listening to my woes, testing my projects and helping me learn.
Finally, have a go – it doesn’t need to be expensive and you can always add something to our wonderful hobby.

The Projects
XLX Reflectors – XLX998 & XLX234
Hotspots – Simplex and Duplex with Pi-Star and with W0CHP-PiStar-Dash (WPSD)
IGate
XLX Reflectors
XLX998
Dedicated to learning about XLX reflectors.
I built this reflector to learn how to use XLX reflectors without disturbing other users due to my lack of understanding. I invite anyone to use this reflector to do the same. Feel free to experiment, I sure I still have much to learn, therefore this is work in progress.
XLX234
Dedicated to Staffordshire , United Kingdom.
I build this reflector in an attempt to create a meeting place for Staffordshire, those living in the county plus those with an interest in Staffordshire.
As technology moves on, it appears we are spread over many areas of our hobby. I hope this reflector can bring people together on occasions and maybe encourage communication in other areas.
I have a short twenty minute journey to work, with erratic repeater, and gateway connectivity. I operate APRS when mobile and monitor S20 and SU20, it gets complicated, especially mobile. It’s my intention (when I can purchase a Raspberry Pi Zero 2) to operated a hotspot from my car monitoring XLX234, initially on YSF01234.
